I have been wanting to get lobsters and cook them at home for a while now, but for whatever reason cooking live lobsters just seem a bit daunting to me (I think I was still traumatized by my crabs trying to crawl out of the pot when I cooked live crabs last time).

After seeing a recent post on this facebook group I was a part of, I decided it's time for me to tackle cooking live lobsters. I bought 2 1.25 lbs lobster from Fourstar seafood, and when they arrived, my animal loving 7 year old immediately asked me if we could keep them as pets. She also named them Sam and Scholl.

Sam and Scholl were very mellow, they pretty much stayed still the whole time they were in the fridge. I was a bit nervous, not sure whether they were going to crawl all over the fridge but they didn't. I read a few recipes, and then started off making my cooking liquid. Boil a big pot of water, I added a few tbsp of Spice Island's garlic and herb seasoning, also some additional salt. When the water boils again, I added 1 lobster and cooked for 10 minutes. Once it's done I immediately added them in a big bowl of ice.

Cracking the lobster was the fun part, I referenced Gordon Ramsey's video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W37TDK6dBM&t=8s

What do you think?
